A Qualified Medical Evaluation (QME) is a comprehensive medical-legal evaluation conducted by a physician certified by the California Division of Workers’ Compensation. QMEs are utilized when disputes arise regarding psychiatric injury, treatment recommendations, disability, causation, or apportionment.
